What the M3 module test covers

M3 is the Higher Tier module test. It targets grades B, C*, C, D and E and assumes the content of M1 and M2. It is taken alongside the M7 completion test, and together M3 + M7 give a final GCSE grade in the range B–E.

How the M3 module test works

The M3 module test is a single written paper, sat with a calculator, lasting 2 hours. It is worth 45% of the GCSE, and the paired M7 completion test makes up the other 55%. Raw mark boundaries change slightly each year.
