Terms of Service

Last updated: 28 July 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the NI Tutoring School website at https://nitutoringschool.com and everything we offer through it — including our free resources, quizzes, paid subscription products and our tutor introductions service (together, the “Service”). Our current paid subscription product is the “SEAG Online” platform (the “Subscription”). We may add further products and services in future, and these Terms will apply to them unless we say otherwise at the time. By creating an account, subscribing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Who we are

The Service is operated by NI Tutoring School, a trading name of Thomas Donnelly (sole trader).

  • Contact: enquiries@nitutoringschool.com
  • Address for service: Ground Floor, Gallery Building, 65–69 Dublin Road, Belfast, BT2 7HG
  • Registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office, reference ZC192540. See our Privacy Policy.

2. Accounts and eligibility

The Service provides SEAG (Transfer Test), KS3, GCSE and A-Level practice materials, quizzes and progress tracking, primarily for children preparing for exams.

  • Accounts must be created and managed by an adult (parent or guardian) aged 18 or over. Each account is for one household and one student: by creating an account you confirm you are the parent/guardian of the child using it and consent to their use of the Service. If you would like access for more than one child, please contact us.
  • You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity under your account.
  • You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.

3. Subscriptions & pricing

  • The SEAG Online subscription is offered on a subscription basis. The current price is £12.99 per month, billed monthly in advance.
  • Season Pass. We also offer a one-off “Season Pass”: a single payment (currently £44) giving access to the SEAG Online platform until the end of the current SEAG season (for the 2026 season, 22 November 2026), with no recurring billing. The price and end date shown at checkout apply to your purchase.
  • Upgrading from monthly to a Season Pass. If you buy a Season Pass while you have an active monthly subscription, your monthly subscription is set to stop at the end of its current billing period (no further renewals). We do not pro-rate or refund the current month, but you keep both accesses until the month ends. If a renewal was charged within a day or so of your pass purchase, contact us and we will refund that renewal as a goodwill gesture.
  • New subscribers may be offered a free trial. The length of any current trial (and whether one is available) is shown at signup, and we may change or withdraw the trial offer at any time for new signups. To start a trial you must provide valid payment card details. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your paid subscription begins automatically and your card is charged the subscription fee, then on each renewal date until you cancel.
  • Prices may change; we will give you reasonable notice of any price change before it applies to you, and you may cancel if you do not accept it.

4. Tutor introductions

Separately from the Subscription, we operate an introductions service that puts families in touch with tutors. It works like this:

  • You send us an enquiry describing the tuition you are looking for.
  • We offer the enquiry to tutors on our list. A tutor who is able to help accepts it.
  • You pay a one-off introduction fee of £25. Once it is paid, we release your contact details to the tutor and the tutor’s contact details to you.
  • You and the tutor then agree lessons, times, rates and payment directly between yourselves.

What the £25 buys. The introduction fee pays for the introduction itself — finding a tutor who can help and putting you in contact. It is not a payment for lessons, and no lessons are included in it.

Who your tuition contract is with. Tutors introduced through this service are independent, self-employed practitioners. They are not our employees or agents. Any tuition contract is made directly between you and the tutor, on terms you agree with them, and the tutor is responsible for the lessons they deliver, their own insurance, tax and registrations, and for the standard of their teaching. We do not set, collect or guarantee tutors’ fees.

Tutor checks. Tutors on our list confirm their qualifications, registrations and suitability to work with children to us when they join, and we ask them to keep that information current. We encourage every family to satisfy themselves about a tutor before lessons begin, and to ask to see the tutor’s own documentation.

Cancelling an introduction. The introduction fee buys a service that we begin as soon as you ask us to. If you change your mind before we release contact details, tell us and we will refund the fee in full. Once contact details have been released, the introduction has been delivered and the fee is not refundable — but if the tutor turns out to be unavailable or unsuitable, contact us and we will look for another tutor for you at no extra charge, or refund you if we cannot.

If something goes wrong with the tuition itself. Because the tuition contract is between you and the tutor, disputes about lessons are between you and the tutor. We would still like to know: tell us and we will help where we reasonably can, and we may remove a tutor from our list.

5. Payment

  • Payments to us are processed securely by Stripe. By subscribing you authorise us (via Stripe) to charge your payment method for the subscription fee and any applicable renewals.
  • If a payment fails, we may retry it and/or suspend access until payment succeeds.
  • You are responsible for any taxes that apply to your purchase where required.

6. Cancellation and refunds

  • You can cancel at any time from your account or by emailing us. When you cancel, your subscription remains active until the end of the current paid period, after which it will not renew.
  • Any free trial is your risk-free window to decide — cancel any time during the trial and you will not be charged.
  • Except where required by law, subscription fees already paid are non-refundable, and we do not provide partial refunds for unused time in a billing period.
  • Digital content and your right to cancel: because the Service gives you immediate access to digital content, you agree that we begin providing it right away and you acknowledge that you lose the statutory 14-day “cooling-off” right to cancel once access has started. This does not affect your rights if the Service is faulty or not as described.
  • Season Pass refunds. The Season Pass gives immediate access to digital content, so (as you acknowledge at checkout) the statutory 14-day cooling-off right ends once access starts. On top of that we offer our own guarantee: if you change your mind within 7 days of purchase and the pass has not been used (no quizzes or practice tests taken), email us and we will refund it in full. This does not affect your statutory rights if the Service is faulty or not as described.
  • Introduction fees are dealt with in section 4 above.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • share, resell or give others access to your account or the paid content;
  • copy, scrape, republish or redistribute our questions, quizzes or materials;
  • attempt to disrupt, hack, or gain unauthorised access to the Service;
  • use the Service unlawfully or in a way that harms others.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms.

8. Intellectual property

All content on the Service — including questions, quizzes, practice tests, text, graphics, branding and software — is owned by or licensed to NI Tutoring School and is protected by copyright and other rights. You are granted a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the content for the account holder’s and their child’s own study only. No other use is permitted without our written permission.

9. Educational disclaimer

The Service is a study and practice aid. While we work hard to provide high-quality, relevant materials, we do not guarantee any particular exam result or outcome. Practice materials are our own preparation resources and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or official materials of SEAG, CCEA, or any examination body.

10. Availability

We aim to keep the Service available and running smoothly, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may occasionally suspend the Service for maintenance, updates or reasons beyond our control.

11. If something is wrong with the Service

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, digital content you pay for must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If it is not, tell us and we will put it right — normally by repairing or replacing the content within a reasonable time and at no cost to you. If that is not possible or we cannot do it within a reasonable time, you may be entitled to an appropriate price reduction or refund. Please email enquiries@nitutoringschool.com and we will deal with it.

12. Our liability

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so (including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud). Subject to that, and to the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • we are not liable for loss or damage that was not reasonably foreseeable, or that arises from your failure to follow these Terms;
  • our total liability to you for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

These Terms do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Ending your access

You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms, or where we are required to by law.

15. Complaints

If you are unhappy with anything about the Service, please email enquiries@nitutoringschool.com with “Complaint” in the subject line. We will acknowledge your complaint within 5 working days and aim to give you a full response within 28 days. If we cannot resolve it between us, we will write to you to say so and let you know about any alternative dispute resolution provider we are able to use, and whether we intend to use it. You can also take a complaint about the Service to your local Trading Standards or Consumerline. Complaints about how we handle personal information are dealt with in our Privacy Policy, which also explains your right to complain to the ICO.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the law of Northern Ireland. Disputes will be subject to the courts of Northern Ireland, except that if you live elsewhere in the UK you may also bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the UK where you live.
