St Dominic's High School: SEAG score and admissions criteria

Belfast · Catholic girls' grammar · September 2026 entry

This page shows exactly how St Dominic's High School used SEAG results to allocate Year 8 places,
taken from the school’s own published admissions criteria. It is one of the
63 school evidence cards in our SEAG admissions guide.

Allocation pattern

Band priority

SEAG scores are grouped into bands. Every child in Band 1 is considered before any child in Band 2, and so on. Within an oversubscribed band, published tie-break criteria — not the score — decide who gets a place.

How places were allocated for September 2026

  1. 141 places. Pupils are admitted by SEAG Band: all Band 1 applicants before any Band 2, and so on, until places are filled.
  2. Within an oversubscribed Band the sub-criteria apply in order: a sibling currently or formerly enrolled → a twin whose sibling qualified this year → the eldest girl of the family → entitlement to Free School Meals → highest Total Standardised Age Score (TSAS) → random selection.
  3. No capital fee; a voluntary contribution (currently £100 for the first child, £50 per subsequent child) is requested.
Band comes first — a Band 1 applicant is admitted ahead of any Band 2 applicant. The exact TSAS is only used late, within the Band where places run out, after sibling, eldest-girl and Free School Meals criteria.
