Rainey Endowed School: SEAG score and admissions criteria

Magherafelt · co-educational voluntary grammar · September 2026 entry

This page shows exactly how Rainey Endowed School used SEAG results to allocate Year 8 places,
taken from the school’s own published admissions criteria. It is one of the
63 school evidence cards in our SEAG admissions guide.

Allocation pattern

Score rank order

Places go in strict SEAG score order, highest first, until the school is full. When scores tie at the cut-off, published tie-break criteria decide the final places.

How places were allocated for September 2026

  1. 100 places. Places are filled in rank order of SEAG Total Standardised Age Score (TSAS), highest to lowest, up to the admissions number.
  2. Where children tie on the same score for the final place(s), tie-break criteria apply in order: a sibling currently enrolled → a child of the family previously enrolled for two or more years → the eldest or only child → then further criteria and a tie-break.
  3. A capital fee of £140 per year applies.
Places go by score rank alone. The sibling, past-family and eldest-child criteria only separate children tied on the exact TSAS for the last place. The Band is not used.

2024/25 100 142 114

Recent intakes have admitted slightly above the 100-place number, reflecting additional places (such as SEN and appeal admissions), as shown in the school’s published figures.
