Bloomfield Collegiate School: SEAG score and admissions criteria

Belfast · girls' controlled grammar · September 2026 entry

This page shows exactly how Bloomfield Collegiate School used SEAG results to allocate Year 8 places,
taken from the school’s own published admissions criteria. It is one of the
63 school evidence cards in our SEAG admissions guide.

Allocation pattern

Score rank order

Places go in strict SEAG score order, highest first, until the school is full. When scores tie at the cut-off, published tie-break criteria decide the final places.

How places were allocated for September 2026

  1. 110 places. Places are awarded on SEAG scores in strict rank order, highest first, down until the admissions number is reached.
  2. If girls are tied for the last place, criteria apply in order: a child of the family enrolled (as of 1 September 2025 or accepted for September 2026) → the eldest girl in the family eligible to transfer → a child of the family in Years 8–14 at an all-boys post-primary school → transferring from a listed feeder primary or living within three miles’ walking distance.
  3. Any remaining tie is settled by a computer-based process using applicants’ names.
  4. As a controlled school, no capital fee is charged.
Places go by score rank alone; the sibling, eldest-girl and feeder-primary criteria are only tie-breaks between girls on the same score. The Band is not used.
