About this test
This free spelling test follows the format of the spelling questions in the SEAG transfer test. Each of the 20 sentences is split into four parts labelled A to D. Pupils find the part that contains a spelling mistake, or choose N if the sentence is correct.
The words are ones P6 and P7 pupils often get wrong: endings such as -cian, -cial, -cious, -ible and -ance, double letters, silent letters and common homophones. Some sentences have no mistake, so pupils need to check every word rather than hunt for an error.
How to use it
Print the PDF and allow 15 minutes. Pupils mark their answers on the SEAG-style answer sheet at the back of the booklet. The answers page gives the correct spelling for each question, so pupils can learn the words they got wrong.
Includes: seven-page PDF with a cover, 20 questions, a SEAG-style answer sheet and a full answers page.
